DAILY ACTIVITIES

DAILY ACTIVITIES

On joining our pre-school each child is assigned a key carer who will look after and work with them on a one-to-one basis to ensure they develop to the best of their ability. All our key carers are fully trained paediatric first-aid officers, have a minimum of (or are working towards) a level 3 NVQ and have first-hand parenting experience.

To encourage learning through play, each half-term is centred around a specific topic. The current topic, letter of the week and number of the week are displayed on the notice board for parents to see. We also have changing daily activities and a specially-allocated role-play area that encourage the children to learn about the topic.

Each day our children are encouraged to bring in items from home that relate to the letter of the week, these items can then be discussed during circle time to develop many areas such as language, confidence, and social skills.

Our topics include:
  • Under the sea
  • Jungle
  • Holidays
  • Autumn
  • Transport
  • Seaside
  • Life-cycles
  • Mini-beasts
  • The world around us
  • We also celebrate a number of festivals and faiths throughout the year including Chinese New Year, Diwali and Easter.
